NOT SUBBED The Howard Government (1996 – 2007) implements the Northern Territory Emergency Response in the Northern Territory in response to the Little Children are Sacred report. Also known as the Intervention is, legislation is passed that severely impacts Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. This includes welfare quarantining, removing permit system to access Aboriginal lands, prohibition on alcohol and pornography in prescribed areas, and the suspension of the Racial Discrimination Act.
