Bonyi Biar peak

NOT SUBBED Bonyi Biar (the Bunya Mountains) on Wakka Wakka country is an iconic cultural peak in the region. People would generally stay off the mountain and remain the foothills. Only certain people were allowed on the mountain to participate in ceremony, collect nut and send signals to other groups. There are a series of mountains that can be seen from the coasts to the north and south with the peak visible at least a couple of hundred kilometres from every direction. The signals sent out messages to guide people to Bonyi Biar.  (Solua to check what those signals were ???) This peak at least a couple of hundred kilometres from every direction. This would usually occur during the daytime as it was taboo to stay up on the mountain. Only those with authority would stay on the on mountain. The mountain is also the water source which is sacred and held in high esteem. This water from the mountain feeds into the water systems of what will be known as the great Murray Darling River system.
