Aboriginal Deaths in Custody Royal Commission

NOT SUBBED mw draft The 1991 Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody was established in response to the high number of Aboriginal people who had died while in police custody. The Commission's report, released in 1992, found that Aboriginal people were more likely to die in custody than non-Aboriginal people and that there were a number of systemic problems that contributed to this. The report made 339 recommendations for change, many of which have since been implemented.
